Tucked away on a skywalk between two buildings at 1185 6th Avenue—with its entrance on 46th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues—Utsav has been a woman-owned culinary destination serving exceptional Indian cuisine to New York City for twenty-four years. Since its establishment in 2000, this hidden gem has evolved into something truly extraordinary: three distinct cuisines from the Indian subcontinent under one roof.
Owner Nandita Khanna has expanded Utsav's offerings beyond traditional Indian fare to include authentic Bengali cuisine and Indo-Chinese specialties, bringing these flavors to Times Square and the Theatre District for the first time. The spacious bi-level restaurant features a lower-level bar offering daily Happy Hour specials, while the expansive upper dining room showcases floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the plaza on both 46th and 47th Streets—creating an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere perfect for pre-theater dining. Located next door to The Laura Pels Theater, Utsav serves as an ideal venue for corporate functions and celebratory gatherings. A private dining room accommodates up to twenty-five guests, while the larger spaces easily handle groups of any size.
